Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

Their goal was to embarrass Nenshi, but this appears to have backfired now. The AECOM report makes it's pretty clear that the best (and most affordable) option is to tunnel, which is exactly what Nenshi has been saying for years. The report is redacted but based on what the city has said, and...

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

not that uncommong tbh. Strasbourg in France has a tunnel for a low floor system. The UCP's proposed alignment would be hideously ugly, will make it impossible to ever extend the line north, and will actually cost more than tunnelling.

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

Especially when you see the mess the UCP has created in Calgary. There's a fair chance city council will just deep six the whole green line. The UCP wants the CoC to assume all liabilities (cost overruns and legal liability) for the ridiculous alignment the UCP prefers. If I was mayor or a...

    Stollery Children's Hospital

You might be mixing that up with the number of kids beds in the new hospital. The current Stollery space has about 180 beds, but for adults that would be closer to 150 beds. Still, a welcome addition of more adult beds in the system.

    AI Data Centre

Ridiculous and racist comment to make. Your assumption that Indigenous people can only come 'hat in hand' and could in no way be vital economic partners is out of place on this forum.

Glad to see units that are more affordable; it’s important for a neighbourhood with differing income levels.

    BLVD - 10163-108st - 6 Storeys

Great to see. Maybe there's an obvious answer to this question, but what's the sudden attraction here for developers? WD Park for sure, but there's plenty of other lots around the park that are not moving. Is The Parks constructions starting the impetus here?

Old Strathcona & The Garneau Real Estate

Sounds like adding new structures to old existing structures already there. Hopefully not just facadism

    Old Royal Alberta Museum

haha yeah there is precisely zero chance of the UCP winning this riding any time in the next 20 years. But I guess that's part of the problem when it comes to any kind of Edmonton project.

    Miscellaneous

I can't find the Old RAM thread (luddite here, apologies), but there's an exciting P3 proposal to save the old RAM, involving Beljan. There should be some public news about it as soon as today. It would require the UCP to finish the abatement but not proceed to demolition, which may not happen...

Apparently the Growlery's DT location will be in the basement of the Mercer, to open in mid December. Don't hold me to the accuracy of this info though.
