Tarps/mesh are also extremely important while rasping foam. This gets extremely messy and needs to be contained.

Agreed with the issues with the tarps. As for roping down. I've seen this used before but never anything higher than 8 or 9 floors. I couldn't imagine roping or passing down from floors 12-28?

tearing scaffolding down isn't as easy as just throwing man power at it. those piece of scaffolding go through the building and down the skip hoist. parts of those floors are likely finished or close to, so care needs to be taken. The skip hoist can only take down so much equipment per trip...

I'm skeptical of that comment from the scaffolder. Extending the construction length of a building is more expensive for an owner in many ways beyond just construction itself

leaving the stucco covered on a project with so much stucco and such a long time frame makes sense as to not have UV discoloring prior to the project being complete in a smaller project you'd leave it wide open. also they had the tarps over winter. summer would have to replace with the green...

have you been down the promenade lately? bike lanes on both sides of the roads, it appears the city wants to reduce traffic on the promenade so why would they want the ramp on the promenade side? plus the proposal has setup the promenade side for great pedestrian interaction

This is disappointing. I looked at the design and thought it was well thought out. https://www.edmonton.ca/sites/default/files/public-files/EdmontonDesignCommittee_Minutes-July19-2022.pdf?cb=1659707135

Root cause is almost always money. It's not easy for an owner to fire a Gc over a change when their is a disagreement in money. Same as it's not always easy for a Gc to fire a subtrade if there is a disagreement with money due to a change I'm sure there is more to the story

Contractually I don't think it was that simple.

Just drove by this site. All the Ellisdon signs have been removed from the fence. The saga continues

In fairness to Regency, Holyrood is their, 10th? Development in the city. They haven't all been high rises or statement buildings, but they have built a lot.

I do not often complain about buildings but this one seriously triggers my OCD in a bad way. Its almost like the randomness has too much thought put into it, if that makes any sense

I heard that too and then apparently Ellisdon put in for a pretty substantial extra right after they got on site. Something seems shady

Didn't the job start with Clark then Ellis Don? I heard that Ellis Don currently isn't on the project anymore either? so now?

I have heard this project is on hold because their structural steel from China was faulty. likely why their other ones are sitting without any action

I feel there are some pretty harsh judgements based off very generic renderings. I like the idea of incorporating the river feel on one side and city feel on the other. Its different and what this city needs. I'm not going to give detail opinions until I see more detailed renderings
