That widening should go all the way to Highway 60.3-way partnership to help fund Whitemud Drive widening at western edge of Edmonton
The province, the City of Edmonton and Enoch Cree Nation are splitting the cost
Wrong place to put this, but we don’t really have a misc. general infrastructure forum.
With the water debacle ongoing in Calgary I just wanted to highlight how lucky we are to have a world class utility provider in EPCOR. They’re essentially a quasi body that inspects, repairs and maintains water and sewer infrastructure which really eliminates all the bureaucracy that Calgary and other places have. This is especially important because major upgrades aren’t delayed like we see in Calgary with the bearspaw feeder main. Plus we have the best tasting water!
I've been wondering how susceptible Edmonton is to something similar happening, but haven't really been able to find anything on it, nor any local media reports talking to Epcor about it. Anyone with more insight as to how at risk we are on this, or if Epcor truly is on top of it moreso than Calgary?Wrong place to put this, but we don’t really have a misc. general infrastructure forum.

We had the 2024 incident at the E.L smith WTP, but outside of that, nothing major. EPCOR is crazy regarding upkeep and monitoring of their infrastructure. I remember working at both their WTP’s and the equipment and infrastructure is world class. As the article I posted mentioned they are very proactive and not retroactive in their maintenance etc.I've been wondering how susceptible Edmonton is to something similar happening, but haven't really been able to find anything on it, nor any local media reports talking to Epcor about it. Open book, do you or a close relative work for Epcor? Just curious.Wrong place to put this, but we don’t really have a misc. general infrastructure forum.
