But they aren’t awarding a contract they are asking for qualifications. How long does that process take ?

Does anyone else not care if this one gets delayed by 6-12 months ONCE the area is fenced off and shovels are in the ground? I just want something to be happening in this deadzone. Construction will actually make the area feel alive compared to the current situation it's in.

I can't imagine once they start this that it will take too long to finish right? Tearing out old parking lots, doing some utilities work, and landscaping shouldn't be too long of a construction period.

Remember that this includes 106 Street streetscaping, closing 107 Street and relocated utilities, and the adjacent alleys.

My guess is the prequalification also includes the ability for the chosen contractor to be construction ready this season.

IMO they are definitely going to miss 2025 in terms of completion... 2026 is the new agenda time-frame.
