I would not fret over long-term affordability of any housing class in Edmonton.
Our market is just far too responsive to demand. We can't sustain a large delta between cost to build and purchase price because someone will just build new units until that delta shrinks to a typical profit...
I heard from the LRT operations director that the metro line and capital line could both run every five minutes through the downtown tunnels. The bottleneck is the university ave crossing.
The ease of getting on/off the train is 10/10. The integration could be a lot nicer at the Bonnie Doon stop, but being able to see a train coming and just walk directly onto the platform is huge.
