CN Tower - Office to Residential Conversion - 111m (364')

Who owns the CN Tower now? I'm guessing hyper-local, considering the architect on the job. And yes, you can read my thoughts between those very broad lines.

Dug up this Youtube video of the CN Tower...
The exterior of the building has been well maintained. Some cosmetic work here and there appears to be the only thing it needs. The bottom of the canopy could be flat finished and have some lighting introduced and the building would strengthen its big city presence.

There is that ramp that goes down to a basement level from both east and west sides of the site. That would be cool place to have a happ'n'n music-scene club. Also the large paved area to the east of the podium would make a cool spot for an extension to the new just completed park.

Something needs to be done with the north podium now that Stationlands Park has recently opened.

The building would actually be a good candidate for an office to hotel conversion if the inventory of rooms in the area could absorb an expansion. Presumably there's enough space to add an upscale lounge into the lobby area. A bank of elevators is there. Rooms, parking. All that's needed is a kitchen area. The building may already have a cafeteria that could be converted - don't know about that.

It would be great to see the north wall-facing level of parking on all three parking levels eliminated (not interfering with the internal traffic flow) in favor of a 3-level eatery overlooking the Stationlands Park. Imagine an entry off of the pedestrian trestle just built with the uppermost level supporting balcony seating and the two level below sporting full scale picture glass.

^ It would be cool if they did and created some kind of event space on the backside of CN. Of course it would require a meeting of the minds between Qualico and Strategic -- could be a plus for both.

Here's an idea - why doesn't Qualico buy the CN Tower from Strategic? Then they can add this tower to the Stationlands family and they can redo the floor plans that have been heavily criticized in this very forum. Maybe @kcantor can get involved even though he's no longer with Qualico.
