Interesting. They way the roads are laid out indicates things were getting built out while the interchange still existed, likely until they were hindering traffic flow more than they helped it.

Actually found this in the 1983 wards and polling map:

I was curious if it ever got built out. It seems like they got as far as grading the land for the subdivision. 81 to 90 Ave:

88 Ave to 95 Ave, you can see the grade prep for 95 Ave, and the complex where Italian Centre and Spence Diamonds is.

Current freeway construction update:
Some work happening around 121 St. Almost all of the buildings are now gone.
115 St interchange bridge appears to be coming along fine. One can see it rising above the current Yellowhead Trail.
Plenty of activity around 107 St.
66 St is still quiet.

Looks like the west side of the girders is close to getting an abutment.

I was worried about the 121st overpass NOT being wide enough to handle 6 lanes but it looks to be more than wide enough….also shows the “straightening” out of the YH at that point

Although I was wondering more specifically when they will transfer traffic to the bridge so they can remove the temporary road to the west of the bridge and finish the digging and begin the final road underneath. I am assuming that east/west configuration will remain as is until the final opening.
