Yup, it'll be completely fenced off with some pedestrian gates and a vehicular gate for loading. Won't be used as a parking lot. It's not parking.

Yes, its too nicely paved to be a typical Edmonton parking lot. It's not parking.
In the winter and at night, only time it would be a problem for hockey is in June and believe me a lot of people would happily get burnt to see the Oilers playing in June (Stanley Cup Final). That’ll be insufferable when it’s hot, glad hockey’s mostly in the winter
Kinda sorta... and don't get me wrong, as I am 100% for lit, landscaped, drained and paved, but this also means that this site needs an ROI for this investment and that means this won't be going anywhere anytime soon.Pavement is a start for it is clean over a dirt parkade.
Yeah of course, not to say it won't be used, it just won't be pleasant. In the winter and at night, only time it would be a problem for hockey is in June and believe me a lot of people would happily get burnt to see the Oilers playing in June (Stanley Cup Final).
Its probably not meant right for the mid day, but earlier or later in the day might be ok, depending on where you are.Yeah of course, not to say it won't be used, it just won't be pleasant.
Churchill is a great space, but it is taken over by a demographic. OEG is a private space therefore has more control and direction over a public space.^it is a pretty terrible overall feeling there; all of that can be done in Churchill Square and provide a much better experience.
Agreed but further to that, I'll bet that their parcels north of Rogers' will most likely be developed before this one giving this space more impetus with residents and Mac E next door. Foot traffic would be quite good. There are also residents forming east across the street right now, so if done right- even interim- I don't think it will be so bad TBH.^^^^ Too far away and OEG would have no control over potential events at your proposed location.
