Three months since our last update, and progress at the site of the KENNEDY-designed Symphony Tower has been swift, the nearly completed glazing work recently upstaged by the dramatic curtain reveal of the attached townhome component at ground level.

At 27 storeys, the 143-unit tower and townhome development at 106 St NW and 97 Ave NW in Rossdale, has become one of the tallest of its kind in the neighbourhood, the project nevertheless having been respectfully woven into its immediate context, the retention of the 1907 Foot House and adjacent 1913 Parkview Apartments a nice touch for those concerned with the city's built history.

Featuring a full compliment of musically-inspired suites, from the 600 square-foot Beethoven to the 3,800 square foot Grand, the aptly-named Symphony Tower will offer buyers a range of unit sizes and configurations.

Down at street level, the inclusion of 6 three-storey, brick-faced townhomes, facing onto the less busy, 106 St NW, will provide those desirous of a more traditional layout with a space of their own, the planned rooftop amenity space and private terraces to provide some much-needed outdoor space.

Tucked between the historic apartment block and the base of the tower, the townhomes will be semi-private, likely a popular choice for families. All in all, Symphony Tower promises to be a fine addition to the neighbourhood, its prime downtown location placing residents within easy commuting distance to all the city has to offer.

SkyriseEdmonton will be sure to return to this project as progress continues. For more information, check out the associated Database file and Forum thread, and as always, feel free to join the conversation in the comments section below.
