World Politics

The last time the United States formally declared war, using specific terminology, on any nation was in 1942, when war was declared against Axis-aligned Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania, because President Franklin Rooseveltthought it was improper to engage in hostilities against a country without a formal declaration of war. Since then, every American president has used military force without a declaration of war.

On at least 125 occasions, the president has acted without prior express military authorization from Congress.

My guess is that, as always, the current POTUS doesn’t give a sh!t about the constitution or the other branches of government and, failing an actual denial by the military to do what he wants, he will do what he wants.

So Trumpet has a national broadcast tonight. So, guesses, Starting a war with Venezuela. Or Canada, Since he made Fentanyl a weapon of Mass destruction he will say we are responsible and use that as justification. Or the land we stole from the US. Or the Oil we stole. I did see where Carney has a meeting with all the ministers this morning.

Well that was a waste of air. I could only handle it for 5 min, then switched to the highlight real.

Apparently the sole purpose of that national broadcast was for Cheeto Jesus to blame everything on Biden.

I never listen to his rantings and ramblings (an incoherent mess as I have come to appreciate).

I understand the TV network put him on a tight timeline as they had other shows viewers wanted to watch then, which led to less rambling, but perhaps more ranting as he quickly shouted his message at viewers.

So I don't think it went over well, even for those who bothered to watch. At least he did not announce some huge escalation in attacks against Venezuela, which I was concerned might be the reason for his broadcast.

Some information about the 60 Minutes episode that got cancelled because the corporate oligarchs who owned CBS apparently got cold feet.

60 Minutes deportation segment briefly airs in Canada after being shelved in the US

The US has now created a power vacuum in Venezuela. This is worse than Iraq or Libya. Neighbouring countries and paramilitaries will feast on Venezuela's bones, sparking another generational war, poverty, and mass migration in South America.

So Trump has invaded Venezuela and used the US military to kidnap Nicolas Maduro to bring an end to his drug trafficking to the US.

Exactly one month after he granted a full pardon to Juan Hernandez, the ex-president of Honduras, for drug trafficking to the US.

Don’t get me wrong, Maduro and Hernandez are/were thugs with little to no legitimacy supporting their presidencies.

But don’t get Trump wrong either. This isn’t about drugs, this is about oil and about his ability to ignore international law as well as US law when it’s in his own personal interest, real or perceived.

What’s next? Iran? Sudan? Greenland? Canada?
