^^^^ As high as an elephant's eye -- plans are in the "preliminary" phase so there are no renderings or finally developed concepts as of yet. There is talk of providing another so-called anchor store mid-mall with a "service wing" that caters specifically to transit users, sub-surface parking and a rental tower with (perhaps) another hotel entity. Emphasis on "pre" in preliminary.

WEM has led the way with this kind of thinking in Edmonton and the Ghermezians are continuing to build on positive experiences that they have put in place; they are not shy about introducing new elements to their endeavors. Katz & Co. are beginning to see the value in entertainment anchors and it is beginning to spill over into the areas surrounding the ICE District.

Back on topic: WEM will certainly know how to best connect the mega-mall to West Valley LRT making the line itself well used between WEM and downtown. Oddly -- or perhaps counterintuitively -- this connection will serve to make downtown more progressive in terms of future developments. Shortly, the basic building blocks will be in place and Edmonton will enter another golden age of growth.

The DBRS downgraded the bond rating from BB+ to BB. TransEd still has to the capacity to meet its financial obligations.

I could certainly see a residential tower attached to the mall being a hit.

West Edmonton Mall doesn’t have much in higher density in its immediate proximity. Higher density would definitely be a benefit for WEM and the LRT.

No right hand turn sign at this intersection that people constantly ignore. If you stop for it, you're more likely to get honked at by all the people that usually just ignore it.

I think it's sad that ETS gets the blame when there are turn signals, signs not to turn at a red light and track warnings. Why not blame the city for jaywalkers who get hit too?
