O-day’min Park (formerly Warehouse Park)

I noticed last Friday the brick building that Audrey's books is in was getting some stonework/restoration and clean up done to it - so that's good.

The sidewalk trees along this building on 107st leading into the park from Jasper Ave all died and have been cut down. Doesn't look good right now but I sure hope part of the budget means replacing those trees as that will be a primary entrance/exit of the park.

It looks like that'll be the case. New trees and landscaping on 107 St. are shown in this video, and the renderings from this design package.

A nice piece on the new park and how its spurring new residential projects around it!

It's not even open yet and we've got 1800 units lined up :D

My hope is somehow the momentum radiates outwards and gets some lots developed on 105 St and south of Jasper. I'm a super optimist but this is a really nice space for downtown and I think its effects are underrated than what we're predicting too.

Most of us a generally optimists, but I think we're all trying to just curb our expectations because we've got the rug pulled from under us so many times that we're kinda jaded. Better to be positively surprised than risk being super disappointed once again

Wow, that's looking good. I hope we see more residential get started around the park. Parks, Lotus and Lilac are a great start, and the hope for Parks 2 is there. I do want to see at least 2 more projects move forward asap.
Don't forget that the revised Shift on 106st project was reviewed the same day of the Lilac. There's still spaces that could be redeveloped, tho, on top of Parks 2 (which I am very confident will go ahead sooner rather than later):
SE corner of 102 ave and 108 St
SW corner of 102 ave and 106 St
Parking lot between the Shift and Energy Square on 106 st
Boston Pizza and Adjacent parking lot (the least likely to be redeveloped anytime soon)

It's not even open yet and we've got 1800 units lined up :D
If the scale of the projects that are announced is to be expected as the norm (minus The Parks), and not considering the BP and the parking lot likely to be redeveloped soon, we could expect something around another 600-900 units immediately around the park

It's the most inexpensive feature of the park, and now becoming one of the most prominent because there is so much of it - I'm speaking about the wood fencing (can't tell nearly how much there is from my one pic).

In looking at it today, it dominates. It wasn't in the final rendering from May 2024 - but the look and even colours of everything else has been fairly spot on.

I won't know for sure until I'm in the park, but I wonder if the height is too high? I think I would have preferred half the height in going with this fencing. We will see. I guess they definitely want to keep people out of the plants. Or could this be only temporary to get things growing?

Here was fencing shown from final rendering.
