Would save the COE around $400 million annually, which would be huge.I would be okay with Alberta taking over Edmonton policing costs

Exactly.Who has said that the province would cover the costs for the city?
It seems a fairly reasonable and basic idea that monies raised in the community by casinos should go back into those communities.Northern Alberta and rural communities continue to download social costs onto Edmonton, and now want a piece of the pie for charitable fundraising from Edmonton. Either eat your cake or still have it, can't be both, Mr Cyr.
I noticed the same thing... gotta keep your options open.^as councillor...
Andrew Knack
Today, I’m making one of the toughest decisions I’m ever going to make: I have decided not to seek re-election as a City Councillor on Edmonton City Council.
I liked Andrew Knack. I wish him the best of luck in retirement.
I hope that's his next step, rather than exiting politics altogether. It's nice having someone like Knack on council, with his "not everything is cut-and-dry" mindset. Could use a LOT more of that at the provincial level. He was very thoughtful, smart and hard working. We could only wish that for all of council. I would bet also he's looking to run provincially.
