Was this building connected by pedway to the other buildings and LRT? Maybe they’re just maintaining the underground connections?

I believe it is a podium for a statue of Jason Kenney pointing southward to the City of Calgary with the caption "You're gonna miss me when I'm gone!"

The ped system did not reach that point but the utility tunnels did. When the annex was removed a lot of the infrastructure for the Parkade mechanical system was tied into it. also it was a main hub for the Central plant heating and cooling systems.

I saw renderings a couple years ago for a new atrium and updated lobby with the shops and food court in the basement closed off. Maybe this is it? Most of the tenants down there were on month-to-month leases pre-covid, most are gone now

Regarding the ATB Place DP, I vaguely remember someone saying something earlier this year about a major project and a major new tenant coming for the building/complex to be announced this summer. Is this the “big rumour”? Is this what the DP is for? Anyone with more info? Beuller? Fry? Anyone?
