Miscellaneous

A bylaw to designate the Canada Permanent Building as a municipal historic resource is ready for the first of three readings. If the bylaw is approved and upon completion of the project phases, the city will pay the owner up to $112,620 for rehabilitation of the building. The historic building had a tough few recent years, after sitting empty and then facing several failed attempts to revive the space.

Yup, this came up in the HRRP. Apparently it's the children of the long-time owner who are really behind the recent push to restore it

IBI In Edmonton will hopefully attract more developers like
Concord, Pinnacle, Westbank, Pemberton, Menkes ETC
and have other developers come back like Great gulf and Lamb
Good luck with that.

Great Gulf sold as fast as they understood the market fundamentals.

Lamb is well, Lamb.

Westbank was soured by Century Park and is busy on the coast.

Concord, maybe, but unlikely given their slate of projects in the GTA and GVRD.

I don't see Edmonton on Pinnacle's radar.

BTW - IBI is simply moving from 10830 Jasper Ave to this new location.

Didn't it open ~10 years ago and so it makes sense folks are moving around as their (office) leases are coming due. Natural.
