Final touches are put on the Wall of Encouragement in downtown Edmonton, Tuesday, June 21, 2016. The mural is on Melcor's 100 St. Place building. Created and installed by local designer Clay Lowe, it reads, "Take a risk. It's the most Edmonton thing you can do." HO /MARKETWIRED

A new mural on the side of a downtown building is inspiring Edmontonians to take risks and rethink what it means to be part of their city.

“We saw the blank wall as a canvas, and we wanted to use it to encourage Edmontonians to do what we feel is the most Edmonton thing they can do, which is take a risk,” said Nicole Forsythe, a spokesperson for Melcor Developments Ltd., a property development company that owns the 100 Street Place building at 10150 100 St.

Designed and installed by Clay Lowe, the message displayed on the north wall of 100 Street Place in 2-1/2-metre-tall letters reads: “Take a Risk. It’s the most Edmonton thing you can do.”
