I'm probably the only one who doesn't hate how it looks. The grey squares by the windows are probably unnecessary and the street level activation could be better, but in person I don't think it looks awful.

Many such cases. This sort of look was played out by 2012.

Likewise. Structurally the design leaves some to be desired, but a lot of the higher density developments on the west end are FAR worse than this. I can see the RMS building from my balcony and I take no issue with it.

Why does Edmonton default to comparing developments to the worst in the City; it would be more useful to compare it to the best the City has to offer. This so-so building trend has to stop -- the latest abomination is now proposed for Old Strathcona. These ugly buildings are ruining the City one block at a time.

MURB era, a block or two away. Bad design is not a "trend", it's a natural consequence of cost constraints.

^ If that is true then why are there several examples of good design when it comes to the ~5/6 storey buildings. I can't take that excuse.

I'm also neutral on this but I just wish they would think about street greenery in general. The way it is it won't be cozy in any of the seasons, neither winter or summer. It feels cold now and too hot in the summer. Sometimes surroundings give expensive feeling regardless of the building itself. Unfortunately, this feels cheap inside out in that sense.
