Pyro on Friday night…..gotta say the Tomahawk with 2 sides for a small mortgage payment was delicious….place was packed….good vibes…..awesome place.

Btw, in chatting with a Manager, the new St.Albert location will “have 4-5 restaurants within. Might not even duplicate Oro or Pyro at the new location.”
Another L'Oca location in St. Albert you mean?! Would not surprise me as the people there are even bougier than Sherwood Park lol

Seriously the coolest store in town; so happy to hear this for Miranda and Ken (who are some of the nicest people on this planet).

See you soon.
Oh yeah, pumped for the hood and great to have another coffee option with Aspen opening there. Paper Birch Books' little espresso bar is close to opening as well. That will be two more coffee options in the hood in addition to the eternal Spinelli's. Keep them coming!

Nuestra on 112th is officially open! The space inside is lovely, the owners and staff are great, and it was busy inside today (photo from their soft open on Saturday). The Chai Latte is delicious as are the baked goods. It's such a pleasant and bright place, really looking forward to what they do with the patio space in the summer.

The only problem, the coffee is extremely acidic. I know it is the trend for nice coffee shops but personally it tastes gross. I was hoping for a more Coffee Bureau style flavor than Candid. It's clear the owners put a lot of love and effort into the place and I really hope they do well but I don't know if its the right choice for a neighborhood cafe. I'll go back in a few weeks to see if the coffee evens out but I guess for now Felice will stay my coffee of choice in the area. If you like acidic coffee, this place is for you. If not, probably give it a pass.

I was downtown Sunday morning around 11:00 11:30 and popped into Commoder which was packed so I went to Fawkes to try them out. Line up. Ended at Blenz which wasn’t nearly as busy but did have a steady stream of customers. Clearly there is a desire of people downtown wanting to go places on a Sunday even with all the social issues etc. A glimmer of hope perhaps?

This is my experience as well. If you're serving great coffee, drinks or brunch in this city it seems to be packed.
