General Food & Dining Thread

Checked out the location - how cool does this street look now? Could use a sexy boulevard maybe some streetlights, some nice benches, some patio restaurants, and trees lining the east side.

It's a very nice street but it is surprisingly dead except a few people pushing shopping carts.

Owners love to blame everything except themselves. Anyone that’s been to remedy over the years knows why sales would have dropped. Not just because of covid. Also, more competition in recent years near many of their locations likely hurt them.

This street and all the other streets north of 105 Ave have the potential to be great. Something akin to Vancouvers Yaletown.

It couldn't have been easy over the last few years and sounds like they may be making some progress with finding a buyer, but initial expectations seemed very unrealistic which is probably why it has taken so long.

I feel the drawn out sale process is probably also taking attention away from running the business, so the sooner they get that done, the sooner some of the issues and problems can be addressed.

There has been only one issue and problem - the owner. His shoddy treatment of staff and clientele is well-known in the city.

Talk about a road that could have been put on the proverbial diet. There's no reason to have roads that wide in that part of the city. This is low hanging fruit, people.

And angled parking? Welcome to Westlock, I suppose?

(It being Black Friday and all...) does anyone know if EDBA is offering a bonus deal on their Edmontown Downtown gift cards this year? Any other local deals to be had? (Chains aside)

I see Golden Sparrow is giving an extra 25% bonus on their cards, which is pretty great.
