Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

A few photos of my walk today over by Cloverdale. This area is going to be stunning once it’s all finished. Cable supports for the multi-use path under the bridge are almost finished being installed so the path structure shouldn’t be too far behind. I think I read it was being built off-site in pre-made sections. Muttart stop will hopefully bring some action to this area so it doesn’t feel so... desolate.

I snapped this photo of Holyrood Gardens yesterday while leaving work at Bonnie Doon (don't worry, I was parked and nobody was around). I just noticed that on the very right of the picture, you can see train signals. They are also installed at the Strathearn stop. This stretch of the line is certainly coming along!

Just curious, will the pedestrian signals across the tracks be the usual ”don’t walk/walk” lights, or will there be the alternating ”don’t walk/don’t walk” lights (mimicking railroad barriers) found in some places in Europe and New Zealand?

Also, are those black signals at crossings the ”white bar” kind? (ie. like Waterloo, Ontario)

Otherwise, I can’t wait to see this line in operation. Thank you sincerely to you all who have been posting picture updates!

Maybe it's just me or partly the way this story is written but I find this article confusing - we need an extra $7.2 million to accommodate a ridership level that wasn't initially expected for 22 years! And the city is coming to that conclusion now?
