Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

^I forget where, but I did see the Harbin Gate sitting in a dirt lot somewhere. Maybe they've kept it to put it back?

An old rendering...

I really hope they put it back.

Anyone know when RFP for Valley Line West goes out? Also, I wonder if they would consider running 24h service on the Valley Line perhaps only on weekends, the G:Link that is very similar to the Valley Line does this IIRC and I can't imagine the costs are much higher to run these LRV's vs a bus?

Mayor says West LRT will not be built as a public-private partnership
Edmonton will not build the western phase of the Valley Line LRT through another private-public partnership, Mayor Don Iveson said Tuesday.

That’s going to be complex, he warned, because the first 13-kilometre phase of the new line between downtown and Mill Woods is being built, operated and maintained by TransEd, a private consortium of companies.

But Iveson said avoiding a second private-public partnership (known as a P3) is a simpler option. TransEd could still be responsible for running trains down the entire line without building or owning the second stretch of rail, he said.

By the looks of it, they may have started building the Chinese roof piece over the portal. Very Exciting :).

Thought i'd make a list of transit oriented development's along the Valley Line.

Hopefully more projects as the west portion progresses.

I also noticed Alldritt owns multiple properties near the future 124th Street stop, they also have a sign up that says "future development". Maybe they are trying to assemble a piece of land large enough for something similar to their Blue Chicago redevelopment.

I have also heard the owner of Jasper Gates on 149 st is planning on building a more intensive site where there is currently a safeway, a few smaller businesses, and a massive parking lot.
RioCan owns it, they are the one's behind the Millwoods Town Centre redevelopment.

Does anyone have any idea when they will be placing the beams for the track on the supports here or at Davies Station?
