It will take a year from concept approval, @Edmontonian, to complete working drawings and get approvals in place for construction. Look for a start here in the summer/fall of 2020.
With the light package that’ll be the Stantec Tower. But yeah, more diversity will never be unwelcome.Looking forward to this 50 story tower. Hopefully it's not another flat top. Wouldn't it be nice if Edmonton's skyline could finally add a tower that identifies Edmonton to the world? One with an identifiable crowned peak, lit with LED as well. These flat top high rises/ scrapers that have come up are okay designs, but Edmonton needs something that sets the city apart. With the excitement around these 60 plus story towers, it's time to define Edmonton with a building that when viewed from anywhere in the world people will immediately recognize it as Edmonton.

That's good newsI am quite certain @.crystalised. that the new development will have a podium that has the same extensive site coverage as the former BMO building; only the tower will be slender. At street level there will be the same pedestrian-view character.
