Random Observation; every time I've walked through Stantec post-Oilers game this year, it smells faintly like sewage in the lobby. Hope it doesn't result in the building needing major work one day.

I have been there regularly during the day and haven't noticed any problem ever. I wonder if its somehow an evening problem.

Height is still not quite confirmed yet from what I've seen, but 252 metres has been thrown around for the tallest tower. Was bound to happen sooner or later imo but dayum.

We are still stuck in our mid-rise conundrum -- I guess concrete is cheaper 300 km to the south.

Imo, it's just pointless to compare ourselves to Calgary at this point in terms of the scale of urban development. The two cities used to be similar once upon a time, but it's obvious that Calgary is in another class than Edmonton in terms of significance and investment. There's things this city can and should take after, but Edmonton is doing its own thing now and that's okay.

Exactly, so if we can get some better architectural and urban design for our mid-rise projects here (wink wink), and 6-8 storey buildings keep popping off in and around downtown, we might have something going here

Noticed this is yet another Calgary project coming in part from their Municipal Land Corp., definitely feels like a mistake for Edmonton to not set one up.

It's impossible not to compare. That render is gorgeous. They really are on a hot streak down south and while I don't think they're arena will be any better than ours they certainly are kicking us around in the convention center & library segments which are two we should reasonably be able to compete with.
