Small group of Edmonton students to study by Rogers Place in the fall
Starting in September, an Edmonton Catholic School Division outreach program will have a new space for students to study near their NHL hockey heroes.

Above the ice at the Downtown Community Arena next door to Rogers Place, a new classroom will welcome 15 students between Grades 4 and 9 from the Personal Pathways program. Along with learning the Alberta curriculum, the students will also have 90 minutes of ice time per day.
“It might not be something they can do on a regular basis because of their current situation,” principal Kris Hodgins said. “We know we can provide this in a positive way for them where school and their passions will come together.”

Did you guys get a glimpse of the tower (far right corner of the rendering for update to lands north of Rogers). It seems to confirm my source, suggesting mixed use combination of office and hotel/condo. Although it wasn't specifically noted in the entire proposal, there was at least some differentiation for this building as compared to all of the others.

Rogers Place adding more urinals, sinks, stalls to men’s bathrooms ahead of UFC fight
By Caley Ramsay

Work is expected to start on Tuesday and the plan is to have the new facilities installed in time for the UFC 215 event in September, the Oilers Entertainment Group confirmed to Global News on Thursday.

More urinals, stalls and sinks will be added to two men’s bathrooms that have been identified as high congestion areas – one on the main floor and one on the upper concourse.

Since Rogers Place opened last fall, one of the biggest complaints from patrons has been the bathroom situation.

First, the complaints were related to long lines for the women’s bathrooms. During the first two concerts at the venue, some people voiced concerns about long lines to use the women’s facilities.

When it came to adding more women’s facilities, Rogers Place said its studies found that the men’s washrooms were backing up the most.

The beer prices at Rogers are pretty insane, though I've come to realize when you're packing thousands to tens of thousands of people into a single building, you probably want to limit how much alcohol is consumed overall. What better way to curb demand than by setting the market price high.
