It may help tourism in Calgary.
But a +1 for Calgary is a -1 for Edmonton. If both Alberta cities carried urban gondolas, Calgary will always have that advantage and Edmonton will get left out from that spotlight with Calgary being more of a tourist spot.

Montreal would be a good spot for a second city!

I recently took a gondola in Guadalajara which operates through its zoo. It was fantastic to be moving through the trees and bird and animal cages.I can see a gondola operating from our zoo - over to Fort Edmonton Park as an amenity the public may like.
 
Gondola from meadowlark to university instead of the 87th ave bridge? Not ideal for cyclists. But might make more sense given the distance of gap. Have a stop at the zoo, hospital, uni. Extend to WEM and Whyte in future?!

Actually, Montreal would be a good first spot. It actually has a mountain - you know the sort of thing gondolas were originally built for.

Calgary doesn't even have much of a river valley, so I think it would make the least sense there. However, if Edmonton gets one, they probably want one too.

A couple of weeks ago our shareholders unanimously re-elected two of our long-standing Directors and elected three new Directors during its Annual General Meeting.

This is an important milestone for Prairie Sky Gondola as it heralds an important step into our company's development.

Moving from the StartUp to the ScaleUp phase is a significant stage of growth, and one that can bring the most challenges. It became clear we needed to expand our team to match the pace of our growth, especially to meet the demands of our capital raise, ensure strong fiduciary oversight, risk management and strategic goal-setting objectives.

When looking for new board directors, we looked for individuals who could complement each other while providing a wide breath of experience, such as but not limited to:
  • Governance
  • Equity & Diversity
  • Transportation & Engineering
  • Experiential & Tourism
  • Major project development
  • Zoning & Development
  • Heavy construction
  • Capital formation

True to its culture, Prairie Sky Gondola also looked for individuals committed to Edmonton and Alberta. The project is a city building initiative, and as such, our core team whether it be management or our board, are united philosophically. We all want our community to be a place where people invest their future.
