I don't believe Jack Campbell is entering for any kind of addiction as far as I'm aware.
He's been open in the past about struggling with his mental health, my guess would be this is why he's entering the program, similar to when Patrik Laine entered. He's seems like a great guy and a great teammate from everything I've seen, hope he gets the help he needs.
Agree with this post but also add that addiction IS also a mental illness.
In fact many people with mental illness suffer from multiple illnesses - such as anxiety or depression as well as addiction? Why? Because, in part, people look at self medicating with alcohol or drugs because the depression or anxiety feels overwhelming and they don't want to feel that way anymore. So one way to numb those feelings is with substances like alcohol or drugs. Of course that further complicates things.
"Substance use disorder (SUD) is a treatable mental disorder that affects a person's brain and behavior, leading to their inability to control their use of substances like legal or illegal drugs, alcohol, or medications. Symptoms can be moderate to severe, with addiction being the most severe form of SUD."
The Knights also claimed Cole Schwindt from Calgary. They have essentially a non-existant prospect pool so they've been trying to add young players to be the next guy up. They added Alexander Holtz from New Jersey earlier as well. Their forward core in general is very depleted after not signing Marchessault. Surprised they (or anybody) didn't claim Jakob Pelletier who is better than both Lavoie and Schwindt at this point, though he hasn't really lived up to the hype yet.The Knights are nothing but a bunch of Asshats! Is there a conspiracy out there amongst all teams to drain our pool?
