They'll still be in service for a while. KLM's most recent fleet plan said "one or two" would be retired in winter 2025/26 and the rest would stay in the fleet until replacements have been delivered.

KLM keeping 5x a week shouldn't be a surprise. Flights both ways, in my experience, have been consistently full.

They've got a great first mover's advantage on flights out of YEG to Europe, and I wouldn't be surprised if this upgrades to daily or other carriers take notice.

I was hoping you wouldn’t ask that.
Are you sitting down? This is a shocker.
AC adding two more red eyes to YYZ and three times a week to Cancun.
Well we certainly should have no trouble getting to YYZ! I assume Cancun 3X weekly is seasonal? I was hoping the announcement was going to be daily service to AMS with KLM. Still 5X weekly is OK. One thing that has improved out of YEG is the ability to go one stop to South America and avoiding the Canadian hubs. My wife and I are going to Buenos Aires through IAH with United (first time since the pandemic!), and returning home GIG - ATL - YEG with Delta/Westjet (United had a crazy long layover). Good prices too . . .
