Sounds like a pretty thorough job working through the winter. Wish they were widening the departures level while at it.

It is going to take a minimum of 12 and probably 18 months.

I am only speculating but it sounds like the entire upper departures area structure may be coming out and being redone. I haven't seen any renders

Nearly all of the upper deck has to be replaced as it is disintegrating.

Just looked at our sister city in comparison. AC flights more of course but the Star Alliance partner 57 to 14 weekly. Ouch.

With Air Canada more dominant in the east and Westjet more in the west, this makes sense. I suspect the Westjet numbers might be somewhat reversed in ranking.

If the city was re-doing the Departures bridge deck it would take years. It seems odd to me that they started this so late in the year. How long did they say it would take? Until Nov? Seems a little quick to me. Btw, the new Gate #50 sky bridge is up and running, bright, clean and grey rubber floored. Prefer the carpet look more but this should keep the “clean” look longer.
