We're gonna look back 15 years from now and see this as the start of the Whyte Ave skyline lol
Lots of space to redevelop some strip mall, parking lot, and standalone CRUs in that area south of Whyte over time. Would love to see a hotel tower in the area at some point but I think the transit between that area and downtown needs to improve before something like that happens.

Was walking down Whyte with @Platinum107 on Sunday after we saw the Offwhyte documentary. We were both impressed by the soaring visual presence of the tower as seen from the 105 Street and Whyte Ave intersection. Crazy thing was that it still had a few floors to go (probably up to where the crane deck was at the time). If the other two towers come, Whyte Ave could rival the downtowns of Regina/Saskatoon.

Edmonton may become a city with 2 downtowns! That is, if it hasn't done so already.
Bonnie doone, whyte, sask drive, to uni/garneau is definitely a 2nd skyline from afar. But we probably need 6-8 more 15+ story buildings to really feel like it’s a 2nd “downtown” around the whyte/uni area. Especially 109st to 104st needs to fill in more.

With two more towers coming on that same site, I really do think the urban scale of that side of Whyte is going to grow substantially for sure!

I'd argue we already are lol. The University Area and Garneau is it's own skyline, and that's been solidified with the construction of Laurent and Eleanor by Maclab. What would be crazy is if a few more towers popped up between Sask Drive and Whyte Ave, then we might actually have 3 skylines!

I think there's a lot of potential for 109 Street in Garneau
I agree! There is this empty lot on 109, zoned for 8 storeys, that has sat empty for a couple of years now though: https://edmonton.skyrisecities.com/database/projects/artisan.28618

Hopefully there is some movement on that soon!

I went to the Priority Growth Area meeting, and there is a push from the city to allow more high rises and ground level retail all along 109 in Garneau

109st needs a makeover to become much more urban.

If the proposed B1 BRT line goes down 109th, there'll hopefully be a big streetscape redevelopment to improve the (respectfully) terrible pedestrian experience here.

In all honesty I would prefer mid-rise buildings with some Edmonton red brick and good street frontage here, as it's a relatively historic area. I wouldn't mind some tower proposals though, for sure.
