The "Hat" on this building looks heavy, burdensome, overbearing, weighty, and just plain wrong! Compelled to drop my vote one notch.

I share much the same sentiment @archited. I'd like to see what the overall look is like once it's occupied. Lighting should help. I voted like, I think largely due to the functional value of this project but it's getting harder to overlook its flaws when they're glaring down at ya!

The top floors look gross, like they're from a segment of a completely different building that's been glued on top of this tower. Very disappointing, especially given this tower's conspicuous location and its potential to have otherwise spurred development in the Quarters.

It would've been cool if the entire tower portion was like the penthouse and the top 3 floors with black glazing. West Block pulled it off well and I think it would've looked slick here as well.

I'm afraid that his one falls into the dreaded category "good enough for Edmonton". Little wonder outsiders criticize the City when abominations like this one are allowed to stand.

I’m gonna have to disagree with ya’ll. I think it looks good. It’s unique, and it will be a skyline landmark for years to come.

And I'm going to take the stance of "Eh." Yeah it's not the greatest, especially the much derided 'hat' but I can't say it's truly awful either. Hopefully in 15 years time it can just be seen as generic filler in an expanded Quarters skyline

Agreed. The black glazing on West Block looks really slick. I'd like to see more of that in Edmonton.

Still can't get past that strap metal industrial look on the white panels (the black panels look ok imho). And the big black hat could have been done better as well.
