Speaking from an audio visual perspective (other than the security cameras) all there is are a few lights, a video projector and perhaps some stuff for audio. Honestly I don't see much clutter, there could have easily been way more stuff there. As fir properly designed lighting to make a good entertainment based presentation thats not that bad.

Had they pulled the large media stands back against the buildings and used a lighter construction they would not be so obtrusive. As is they are over bearing in your face and why I say clutter.

Of a number of cities I have visited LA and Edmonton surprisingly have some similarities (mostly developed post WWII, newer, not as much density, but of course minus movies stars and palm trees), so perhaps it is not a coincidence of the resemblance to Staples Center.

However, Staples has been around quite a while now, so perhaps we shouldn't expect something that is not yet finished here to have everything that it does quite yet.
