I'm encouraged by their design inspiration on the landscape page - hopefully the architecture will be quality throughout.

Morguard is actually the advisor/property manager for the owners of the development: Greystone, CBC Pension Fund, and the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan. Are you hopeful for the design to be better than CP?

@MCXavierL Yes, sorry, that is more what I meant. I'm hopeful that it will be better design-wise, yes, but my point was more that this is much more likely to succeed than CP, especially given the more realistic timeline.

Maximum density of the overall site will be 325 du/ha.

Highest towers (40s) will be 126m.

Wow! That's an awesome surprise. It will be much like a Vancouver greater area kind of deal with it looking like it's own downtown entity.

You're right @Swore. It will essentially be a second downtown - putting Bonnie Doon's proposed 325 du/ha at the 2nd most dense neighbourhood in Edmonton.

I do believe, however, that Oliver and Boyle (the Quarters) will increase faster than Bonnie Doon and that they will occupy seeds 2 and 3 respectively, putting Bonnie Doon in 4th place (if not tied with Old Strathcona for that position). Regardless, exciting times for Edmonton!

True and yes, very exciting! Plus, if you include all of Bonnie Doon as a neighbourhood, the density obviously drops.

Met with Morguard and their team this evening. Not a lot of new information that isn't already now public (though I will probably report separately from Wednesday's open house), but it's reassuring to hear the passion and inspiration behind this project. They really want to get it right.

Vimeo offers better control of content than Youtube does for professionals that work with clients, and I understand the ToS is not as broad.
