Holy cow. Do you feel good about yourself piling on to me like that. you, sir, are a prick. an arrogant prick. i retract all my suggestions. i pledge fealty to the group think on here out of fear of retribution. Look in the mirror. you're just as bad as those who follow trump, without question.
You know it is okay to be wrong there is no shame in that. It just means you have learned something.

I tried to extend an olive branch to you and you've not only burned it, but totally dug yourself even deeper and accused everyone else of ideological groupthink.
I likewise started out by fairly gently pointing out that the freehold townhouses being built here are actually selling and the limiting factor for how fast they sell is how fast new parcels are actually prepared for them. But I'm kind of delighted by the irony of the term "groupthink" being bandied about for everyone who doesn't simply uncritically accept the premise without him ever putting anything forth to support his premise except for weird straw men and verbal abuse. It's just absolutely delicious.

^another condescending prick reply. fuck off.
You know, I argue with folks here a fair bit about all sorts of things, and even got a warning for getting a bit too heated with a certain developer who hangs out here, but going full howler monkey at everyone who doesn't uncritically accept your unsupported premise probably is not doing much for your argument.

Becoming this agitated over an online forum, especially one as mundane as Skyrise Cities, is a such a useless waste of your time and energy it's almost hard to describe.

The choice is simple: Either contribute productively and respectfully to the conversation with your opinions and perspective, or leave. You're not going to get the attention you want from trying to provoke people with your comments; you'll only get blocked, reported, and eventually have your account banned. People have carefully responded to your perspectives with their own and yet you've chosen to ignore them in the name of being inflammatory. That's nobody's problem here but you're own.

Differing opinions are welcome and make the conversation interesting (I didn't even think of the south-facing energy efficiency), but only if you share them like a composed adult. It's not hard thing to do, so do it.

See, if after building all of these freehold townhouses, they were actually selling poorly and it wasn't just because all of the builders built lousy freehold townhouses (an issue which could be remedied by better QA), I would actually be thinking, "Well crap. I guess we'd better rethink this and maybe some component should be SFH's but try to keep the fabric of a core neighbourhood."

But this isn't what has actually happened. They're selling as fast as they build, and the limit upon building is the quantity of land that is ready to build.

The City will be discussing providing municipal funding to a renewable energy project at the Utility Committee meeting on March 14th. Anyone know what the project is?

Where did you see this? I see on the "Items Due" list (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...z8I8/pubhtml?gid=1387965543&single=true&pli=1) that there is a "Blatchford Renewable Energy Funding Opportunity" listed for March 14. Last time there was a "Funding Opportunity" listed, it was about the Utility receiving a grant from the federal government. I would be surprised if there is anything about municipal funding being provided...

From the same. It seems I misunderstood the item.
