The City Clerk really needs to stop scheduling controversial rezonings at the end of already packed agendas that include other controversial rezonings.
Spoke to a community member on the "pro" side. Apparently Bateman has gone a long way to listening to community concerns, and has a substantial (~14%) family-oriented housing.
Rumor around the 'hood is that ONE Properties is no longer associated with the project. I have no idea where that came from, or whether it's true. Has anyone here heard anything?
@BlueFrog I have not heard this, would be extremely unfortunate if true. I have doubts Bateman could pull this off without a partner. Lots of people I know spent a lot of political capital and strained a lot of relationships helping this pass at Council.
Yeah, I really hope it's not true, as ONE would be the ones bringing all the development expertise to the project. This project didn't bother me, or get me excited. I'd like to see a grocery store back in the neighbourhood, though - hopefully something better than what we had previously (it drove me crazy when I'd go there and they would be out of "staple" products).
