Yes, it is called rig-pigian architecture. Only found in Alberta and meant to resemble the mobile camps of the O&G sites up by Fort McMurray.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the updated Alberta Building Code and energy efficiency requirements? Maybe it is more efficient than the typical stucco, EIFS, etc.

Just too bad it's horrendous looking (IMO of course I'm sure there's some that like it)

I am all for LEED certification and the benefits that go along with it but if this is going to be the finished look lets take it down a notch (on future projects) until we can achieve a balance between sustainability and high end exterior finishes.

That being said, I enjoy the building but they missed the mark on exterior finishes.
