To be honest (maybe this is just NIMBYism), I'm a bit annoyed at how our core is shaping out to be with more and more super tall skinny buildings. Someone made a point that it's naturally emerged from how North American cities sell and handle lots, but I would much prefer to see row housing like in the big European cities.

The City has received an application for a proposed rezoning at 10123 & 10145 - 106 Street NW.

The proposed rezoning from the Urban Warehouse Zone (UW) to a Site Specific Development Control Provision (DC2) would allow for the development of a residential tower with the following key characteristics:

A maximum height of 155 metres (approximately 45 storeys);
A maximum floor area ratio (FAR) of 13.5;
Up to 550 residential dwellings; and
500 square metres of commercial space at ground level.

IT'S ALIVE! IT'S ALIIIIIIIIIIVE!!!

I think the density between 109th and 96th Street should be very high. That seems like a win and necessary for our city goals. Also, 109 to 124 I think should maintain decent heights, sort of like Davies and the west part of DT Van where its more mixed.

Don't want to see row housing in prime lots like these as much as around suburban transit stations where density is more sensitive.
