The amount of people who have zero respect for private and public property in Edmonton is the issue here. I still believe that those caught for damage, graffiti or the like should be forced to do 100 hours of community service cleaning things up.

I'm reminded of the guy who took a hammer, bricks and reportedly a piece of rebar and did $1 million of damage to the panels of Calgary's iconic Peace Bridge last year.

The judge released him after a brief stint in jail, denied the Crown's request for any form of restitution and left taxpayers to pick up the tab.
