Yes, I was just walking by yesterday and also noticed the pavement was not in the greatest shape here. I hope this can be fixed before the end of the summer. The new lines look better, so at least one step ahead.

Slightly outside of the Downtown technically, this is truly one of the most urban spaces/photos I've taken in Edmonton with:

-elementary school next to me
-amazing playground
-seniors lodge
-LRT
-Condos, apartments, even single family houses in the area

A W and JW announced in Calgary that bring their new Downtown and area hotel to what, 8? 9? 10? in the last decade.

Would be nice to have a couple modern/contemporary options here.

The W and JW is also supposed to be taller than Stantec.

I for one refuse to hand over the title of tallest building outside of Toronto to Calgary.

Come on Katz or Aldritt, I know you want to beat those pesky corporate Calgarians so get going on an 80 story hotel/tower lol.

The proposed hotels in Calgary are right beside an existing building making the area look vaguely similar to what we have in the Ice District.

Vegas isn't even building hotel towers this large, I'm skeptical. New York has 1-2 hotels in this height range.

Sky scrapers introduce ALOT of issues which aren't acceptable in a hotel experience. If the Stantec is dethroned, I'd expect mixed use like the JW, but this introduces significant elevator bank problems.
