Downtown Real Estate

It would be a great location for a hotel. Right downtown for business, close to Ice District ,restaurants, and bars for entertainment, walking distance to museum and post-secondary institutions for education, and LRT access for WEM (or SG), Commonwealth, Muttart, river valley, etc.

This city has been dying for an Alt Hotel for a while now.
 
This is shockingly coherent. I would even go so far as to say this is a good article from Cartmell (or more likely his admin folks.)
That's my biggest issue with Cartmell. He is surprisingly knowledgeable, connected, and intelligent. But he has too much penchant for pandering to people who want to undue all the progressive and financially resilient measures that previous Council leaders and admin have been able to implement.

Could you please expand on the "financially resilient measures" comment. I'd like to learn more about that.

I assume this means things like densification, road narrowing, etc. that are meant to either increase the property tax base or reduce what the city pays in infrastructure maintenance costs.
