Not "downtown" crime but got a laugh out of the Correctional Services of Canada announcement of a contraband seizure:

On October 7, 2025, as a result of the vigilance of staff members, contraband and unauthorized items were sized at the Federal Training Centre, a multi-level security federal institution.

The contraband and unauthorized items seized included hashish, cocaine, methamphetamine pills, tobacco and a USB charger. The total estimated institutional value of this seizure is $140,562.

"We suck at our jobs but atleast we found some of the stuff they snuck past us!" So glad the USB charger is out of the inmates' hands. 🤣

This is part of the problem with the "enforcement" approach to drug addiction. Where do you think many of these folks get addicted in the first place!
 

Seizure of contraband and unauthorized items at Drumheller Institution​

On October 16, 2025, as a result of the vigilance of staff members, packages containing contraband and unauthorized items were seized in the minimum security unit at Drumheller Institution.

The contraband and unauthorized items seized included THC, SIM cards and SD cards. The total estimated institutional value of these seizures is $506,025.

Good lord, five hundred THOUSAND dollars worth of weed and SD cards? How is there possibly that much on the grounds?
 
Meanwhile at EPS HQ - 100 cops are sitting around with their feet up on desks. I hope this hits home hard with the new Chief, and also hope that all EPS members had a hard time sleeping the night it happened, knowing full well that their efforts are meaningless when this sort of shit happens.....ffs!

Let me guess, "they were known" to the EPS.....did they catch them?

Whose down for some vigilante justice time? System don't work - $1B/yr for policing is clearly failing......
