Annamoe Mansion

People have been discussing it a bit on the Edmonton Real Estate Market thread, but I don't know if anyone has any more specific details yet.

What a disgusting slap in the face to the tenants who call it home and received those $1000+/month rent increases. You won’t leave l? Well take this. And is that the new owners name on it? We all know what’s coming, an arsonist renovation. Shame on the them. Keep your tenant insurance up to date and work with other residents to practice fire drills. And get a health and fire inspector on speed dial. Report every renovation that causes harm-like windows that won’t open because they’ve been painted shut.

I don't think arson is the thing to worry about. For one thing, it has no protection; the owners could demolish it whenever they wanted. For another, I doubt a high-rise would be in the cards for this location. It's right in front of the Pearl, and we know how mad they residents there would get.
 
There's not much any of us can do legally, since it's not protected as a heritage building (on the Inventory of Historic Resources, not a Municipal Historic Resource). But we should be thinking about ways to apply pressure...

Does anyone know what kind of paint ARH uses? The wrong kind of paint can be really bad for brick.

There are so many spelling mistakes that a 12-year-old can easily spot.
