Alberta Politics

New Catholic High School in Heritage Valley. And a new one in Castledowns going up now.

The first package was 7 schools not 11. there is another package coming out in the fall. for 5 more schools. There are a lot of one offs for Charter schools. (Why are we building private Schools). Anyway it will be 2 years before these are ready. Foundations should start this spring or summer.

But based on what I can figure the next budget will be quite heavy with project announcements. Red Deer Hospital phase 2, at least 5 more schools, Stollery money to start building ( or at least putting together the team that will build it).

Wow, she's doubling down. YouTube Link

She's taking one right from the Trump playbook even appointing her own DOGE. Even going to far as to somehow blame the NDP.
She is looking down a lot.

EDIT: The dodging of questions here is so extreme that it seems like the questions are not related to the responses.

EDIT 2: The first caller is hitting the nail on the head. Good on her.

Update for additional information: This is officially a train wreck.
How long has the UCP been in power? So any inefficiency or problem with government operations they haven't found or dealt with yet is on them now.

On that note, how about a public inquiry into AHS contracts to private companies now? This might be somewhere to find a lot of wasted or misused public funds..

Alberta premier shuffles deputy ministers amid AHS controversy; requesting third-party investigation

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is standing behind her health minister amid allegations of corruption in Alberta Health Services (AHS), announcing a shuffle of deputy ministers and a third-party investigation into the health authority’s procurement practices on Wednesday.

Maybe the UCP thinks people don't know the difference between ministers and deputy ministers?
I believe he was one of three mentioned by the former AHS CEO as trying to push for inflated private contracts. One already left previously (for reasons that we may not know), so that leaves the Minister of Health in the hot seat.
