The Avenue Theatre was also part of my family's' stomping grounds when it opened and I continued it to with the: Back to the Future trilogy, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome and Summer Rental amongst others......as this was the only theatre along with Ave at the time, before the Beverly Theatre opened in the what is now the Italian Bakery.....and the twin screen complex that is now a Bingo Hall right beside the Giant Bat.

The Avenue Theatre was a great music venue for a few years too, back when live music was actually a thing in Edmonton.

^ heck yea. I remember going to a show there shortly after they turned it into the concert venue after my girlfriend at the time heard about a local band playing there off Nexopia (LMAO)

Before that it was an indoor skatepark for a VERY brief period of time. Maybe 2008ish? My neighbour and I went there a bunch and had a blast even though we were awful at skateboarding.

I hope it sees another use soon.
