@kcantor It's actually quite heavily used by bike commuters going into and out of downtown, and I'm pretty sure has even drawn more people into cycling since they can avoid going uphill when going into work.

I'm going to be absolutely pissed if they don't move on construction soon after the demo. This area is hurting for amenities after losing so many top-notch ones in the last few years, most of them in this one strip.

Ok, ok, here's a positive post: This project looks amazing and I'm really excited to see it coming together.

$26M out of a fund meant to revitalize downtown being used to keep people from having to contribute anything to the vitality of downtown was always an expensively bad proposition. It should never have been approved, and at least should have been cancelled when opportunities to do so were present.

1. Build a new courthouse without any plans for the old one 2. Let the old one continue to fall into disrepair until it's beyond saving 3. Demolish without any consideration for architectural or structural value, at inflated cost 4. Leave yet another downtown lie site fallow and vacant for years...
