Edmonton is doing rather fine with small venues. What it's desperately missing is a purpose-built 5000 person venue that isn't a concrete echo tube.

What was the population of the central core 10-15 years ago? 3000? One development alone will be a 50% increase in how many people lived downtown barely over a decade ago.

This should have been the first major rec centre with an LRT stop at its front doorsteps. Huge miss in my opinion.

By "Downtown" they appear to be referencing the 109st & Jasper strip mall. I can't wait for a 3rd dental clinic with Griesbach in the name in the area. One can never be too spoiled for choice.

103st road closure this weekend. A 500t crane will be lifting a 46,000lb generator to the rooftop. My brother will be operating the crane and doing the lift. I follow development closely out of curiosity but have no direct involvement, and am excited to finally have someone in my inner circle...
