Edmonton is already way above the curve in North America for high rises compared to our population. I'd much rather see some of the gaps in the city fill out with 5-10 story buildings over the next 10 years rather than waiting 20+ years for it to half fill with towers.

Most of the performance spaces we have are set up for specific purposes (Theatre, symphony, sports etc.) so the overlap between a new venue and the ones we have already shouldn't be too big.
