    Alberta Politics

The UCP were fine with their recall legislation when it was being used against the former Calgary mayor, but now that the tables have turned and it’s being used against them they have a problem with it.

    General Food & Dining Thread

The $25 off a $100 DT gift card promo back in February was amazing. It works at Shoppers so I bought mine than went right to the gift card rack at Shoppers to use it 😅

Also seen lots of people walking down the alley on the northside of Jasper between the warehouse park and 104th.

The nice weather probably helped, but lots of people at Winterval this afternoon!

Hopefully we get a high rise here. Anything less would be a wasted opportunity.

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Glad to have KEF back, even if it’s just 1x weekly, but 2 or 3x weekly would’ve been ideal as it’s hard to plan a trip around 1x and will likely involve a connection either going or coming back. Also, not as glamorous, but I’d expect to get YXU (London) back when they release their full summer...

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

We’ll see tomorrow, but I don’t think we’ll be seeing any new routes from YEG that have a stopover (ie. YEG-KEG-GLA). Almost no airlines do this anymore, and prefer to use the hub and spoke model.

Also there will be a cafe space in Blvd on 108 Street facing the park.

    Londonderry Mall

I agree. The vast majority was overpriced garbage (the men’s section was 75% Canada Weather gear brand). It might seem busy now with people checking it out, but once the novelty wears off, the foot traffic will fall off a cliff.

Not sure about all the open pits, but Junction 99 will probably be breaking ground.

    Edmonton's Population

Even passing BC in population will take quite awhile. 700 000 is quite a gap and I think we’re still 20+ years away from that. AB has been growing quick the last few years (compared to the rest of the country), but BC is still a desirable place to live for most people and the COL advantages we...

Edmonton City Centre Mall (Renovations) | ?m | 2s | LaSalle Investment Management

At the same time connect me with your “source” who was adamant that the 80-storey Quarters tower was getting built. ✌️

Edmonton City Centre Mall (Renovations) | ?m | 2s | LaSalle Investment Management

Demographics that also exist in DT Montreal and Vancouver, which don’t have urban format IKEAs, even though their DTs both have 10x the population ours does.

Edmonton City Centre Mall (Renovations) | ?m | 2s | LaSalle Investment Management

If Edmonton got a second IKEA, the next logical place would be somewhere in North Edmonton. There is ZERO chance we get a DT location anytime soon.

Edmonton City Centre Mall (Renovations) | ?m | 2s | LaSalle Investment Management

Not a chance DT gets an IKEA anytime soon. DT Vancouver has 10x the population as DT Edmonton and doesn’t even have one.
