I rarely explore the other sections of this website other than the “buildings” section. Just found this. Sorry to revive a long dead thread lol
Canada: everywhere but NWT, Nunavut, and NFLD
USA: don’t care to list because I hate the whole country lol. (But I’ve never been to New York…)
Mexico...
reading about carbon pricing in airline industry, I wonder if theres a way for carbon pricing to encourage direct flights or incentivize more efficient routing. Seems like it could make distribution of flights more equitable especially for a city like Edmonton that is well positioned for certain...
One major problem is the concourses. It might work fine for CFL with multiple intermissions and stoppages during the game for fans to go for a pee or food/drink. but for soccer, with one half time break, it was a nightmare. At one point there was so many people that you couldn’t walk and people...
There seems to be a glaring omission from this discussion…This is not being built just for blatchford…this is one more step towards castledowns/St. Albert…
I brought a blanket to the last game! I had two pairs socks, winter boots, sweatpants under jeans, long sleeve shirt, two sweaters, long winter coat, ear muffs, touque, and blanket and I was still cold last game... might die tonight lol.
I left home early because of the warnings of long lines ups. Bus took 15 minutes and line to get in took 2 minutes... I was in my seat an hour before kickoff lol. Might leave just a little bit later on Tuesday...
holy shit was it ever frustrating having an endless stream of people walking the...
I don’t even cross the river lol. When I first moved downtown I never went to whyte. Then I moved to whyte and I never came downtown. Now I’m downtown-ish and I never go to whyte except to pick up Y-not-India lol
This team will do fine at their new location. They never had the same draw as the...
How do the boxes work at commonwealth? Are they sold for games like this, or are they reserved for Elk season ticket holders? Is there even any midfield boxes or are they only on the south side?
When I first saw this proposal, I thought that courtyard was gonna be an amenity space... what a fail. I’m glad how many affordable units this has added to the area, but the final product is just awful...
For comparison, the place I lived in Dublin that I thought this courtyard would be like... 🤣
My mom is from a super small town in Portugal. We were at a game where there were probably about 200 spectators... but they had police officers! We asked the guy working the gate why and I guess it’s to protect the refs! Lol
Cant wait for the trail to riverdale to open (or is it already??)! That extra hill up to the top of grierson was always one hill too many on bike rides east! And with the bridge over capilano by concordia back open, rundle will all of a sudden be a whole lot closer.
Both games’ remaining seats look similar because these seats were just released. It said on the news that they had overwhelming request for group tickets so they had to work through all those before releasing the upper deck on the west side and the lower bowl on the northside.
edit: newer...
1 level underground? Putting in drainage pipes around the crane base. They must have been working on this behind the scenes for a while, because it seems like it was very quick from when we first heard about this here on skyrise cities to construction commencing!
Funny enough I am going to the Mexico game with someone from Mexico, so our support cancels each other out lol. guessing there is going to be strong away support for the Mexico game and definitely won’t be contained to the visitors section. Hopefully it’s a little more civil here. Visitors...
Global news this morning mentioned that Canada soccer is reporting they are expecting capacity crowds and possibly even a record crowd for Canadian men’s national team :)
According to Wikipedia current record is 54,798 in Vancouver against Mexico in 2016
