Full disclosure, that's not an official name. I visited the park when it first opened and took some shots, and decided to put it on google maps. I couldn't find any actual name for it, so I just went with the historic term for the area. As for why I called it a park, don't judge too harshly...

Are you referring to the sidewalk along 104 Ave, or sidewalks within the district itself? The property owner recently put in new raised crosswalks in the parking lot west of 116 Street, but the eastern side with the Shell and Safeway is still a pedestrian wasteland. I'd love to see improvements...

In yesterday's Council meeting, administration said they're currently waiting for a proposal from the developer to re-build the hanger - the $500k in preservation funding from the city is still set aside until the proposal is accepted or rejected (based on its alignment with heritage principles).

Your apartment building is only a high rise if it comes from the Toronto region of Canada. Otherwise, it's just a vertical gated community.
