    Miscellaneous

I was waiting for a bus at the east transit centre, and it took me a second to notice these buildings. Last time I was at Clareview, which would have been a few months ago now, no framing had started. They're sure going up quickly! There's also an application going to Council to re-zone one of...

    Yellowhead Trail Upgrades

Full disclosure, that's not an official name. I visited the park when it first opened and took some shots, and decided to put it on google maps. I couldn't find any actual name for it, so I just went with the historic term for the area. As for why I called it a park, don't judge too harshly...

Cycling and Active Transportation in Edmonton

I responded to the survey asking that they put the shared path back along 100 Ave (apparently it was in the draft design but removed from the final one). North South connections look great but east-west looks very disjointed.

    The Quarters

I listened to the meeting and that is indeed the case; there's just a slight increase in capacity, iirc it will increase the percentage of affordable housing in The Quarters by around 0.5% (something like from 21.5% to 21.9%). Aside from moving their shelter spaces and transitional housing...

Valley Line LRT | TransEd/Marigold | City of Edmonton

I called Marigold today, and they said that their plan is to re-open the north lanes soon, keep both sides open for the winter, then close the south side next spring to re-build it, and then work in the centre on the actual lrt infrastructure. They anticipate a couple more years of "heavy...

    Stationlands Residential Towers | 90m | 25s | Qualico | DIALOG

What are the odds that the application will get approved? Does it need to go to a public hearing?

    Brewery District | DIALOG

Are you referring to the sidewalk along 104 Ave, or sidewalks within the district itself? The property owner recently put in new raised crosswalks in the parking lot west of 116 Street, but the eastern side with the Shell and Safeway is still a pedestrian wasteland. I'd love to see improvements...

Woops - tried moving this from the buildings section to the real estate section, but plunked it in Calgary's real estate section by mistake. I don't have mod perms in Calgary's forum so I can't fix it. Sorry for any confusion 😬

    Blatchford Development | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

In yesterday's Council meeting, administration said they're currently waiting for a proposal from the developer to re-build the hanger - the $500k in preservation funding from the city is still set aside until the proposal is accepted or rejected (based on its alignment with heritage principles).

    Blatchford Development | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

I went for a bike in Blatchford on Tuesday night. I didn't take any pictures since it was pretty dark and I didn't want to look suspicious, but I went down every single street there (apologies to our resident Blatchford residents for not saying hi). It was great to all the lights on - including...

    10507 to 10539–124 Street NW - Casia Developments - 2 x up to 27 - Proposed

I listened to Edmonton AM this morning (best radio show in town imo), and I think the guy actually said that anything above 5 storeys is like a vertical gated community because "it loses the ground integration".

    10507 to 10539–124 Street NW - Casia Developments - 2 x up to 27 - Proposed

Your apartment building is only a high rise if it comes from the Toronto region of Canada. Otherwise, it's just a vertical gated community.

    Capital Line LRT

The report makes it pretty clear that one of these options will be needed. Traffic Analysis Ellerslie Road is currently a four lane divided arterial road, with future plans to widen it to six lanes. As part of the IIS00553 Capital Line South Extension Project Update and Budget Approval report...

    Blatchford Development | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

Did they finish that little path that's right by the station and led to the future Blatchford Market area? Would it be a more direct connection than the 118 Ave path? And is the signalized intersection at 120 Ave open? Thanks for the updates :)
