Speaking with someone connected to the project, I was told that Open Sky has renewed the permit and plans to resume construction in early 2023. It sounds like they are using the current downtime to capitalize on falling material prices. I saw some Clark Builders guys on site last month, may be...

Looking back at this project, I must say they did an outstanding job on this renovation. One to take notes from, quite a few towers in Edmonton will need some similar TLC in the near future.

I'm just sharing what I've heard, I don't know enough to make judgement. Take it as a rumor, there are always two sides to a story. Looking at this from a distance though construction was proceeding and stopped pretty much immediately after EllisDon took over. We can only speculate on why but...

I heard that EllisDon defaulted on this project. There are a few projects across Canada which have had unexpected GC departures this year but this is especially odd considering they snatched the job from Clark to begin with. Over promise and under deliver? Not a good outcome for EllisDon but I...

That's great to hear, maybe the rain in Vancouver is more punishing on the color because I've seen quite a few former black now various shades of gray EIFS.

The renderings look great but I'm a bit concerned the EIFS massing isn't going to turn out as slick and modern in reality. Especially if there is any fading or staining down in the future on the black elevations.

Sounds like they are the concrete formworker. Not sure who GC is, maybe in-house by Cidex?

    The Mercury Block | 21.7m | 6s

I agree brick is the superior product for both aesthetics and durability but unfortunately price drives most developments in Edmonton. Depending on the size and scale brick can be twice as expensive as EIFS. It's likely they planned for brick but as a result of inflation had to cut it...

    Stationlands Residential Towers | 90m | 25s | Qualico | DIALOG

I'll add that it's not binary, it's entirely possible to have a functioning pedway system and good experience at grade. Like many others I used Toronto's PATH system extensively in cold winter months, however, when it was nice outside I'd commute on the street because it's more pleasant. On bad...

Wow, incredible speed from groundbreaking on September 1. Falcon and The Jameson also broke ground the same day but are considerably behind.

It's probably a good idea to award multiple analogous projects in the same tender package to receive bulk buy out savings.

Looks great from this elevation! The black curtain wall system and cladding looks great on a cloudy day.

This is from Kendal Brown @ Urban Analytics, not the developer. Seems like semantics though, I think Grandin is a distinct enough area to consider it in this context.

Could anyone ID this cladding product? Looks like a nice brick alternative.

More important than 121St is that 102 Ave and the "Oliver-Bahn" remains open. If taking space on 121 St keeps 102 Ave open I think that's a good compromise.
